Locations that are really separate

Stock is held per location, transfers between them are recorded rather than assumed, and each location can be reported on its own or together with the rest.

The accounting is attached, not bolted on

Receiving goods, moving them and selling them each produce the ledger entry they should. There is no monthly exercise to make the stock figure and the accounts agree, because they never diverged.

More than one company and more than one currency

Companies in GBP and in AED sit side by side, each with its own financial year and numbering. Exchange rates are held with the date they applied, so an old document still shows the rate it was booked at.
